Just go for it
Six years ago I just went for it. I'm reminding myself to do the same.
(Last week I got overexcited and hit “send” on Tuesday afternoon instead of “schedule” for Wednesday morning - we’re back on schedule this week!)
My phone is reminding me that 6 years ago, during the pandemic, I was uploading videos of myself working out onto Instagram and Facebook.
I was filming myself working out on time-lapse every day. Sometimes twice a day.
And not because I had a large online following, and not because I thought anyone particularly cared.
It motivated me.
And after a lot of video uploads, I realised that it was also inspiring others to keep fit during an unprecedented time when we were trapped at home. I knew because, after a while, if I missed a day, I'd receive messages asking if I was ok!
Now, that was 6 years ago, and my phone is reminding me of those videos, and I can't help but smile.
I was uploading without really thinking about it, and with no fitness experience and no expectation from the videos. (This was before Instagram allowed everyone to be influencer-y; there was no ability to share links and be cool.)
But it felt good to me, and it inspired others, so I did it anyway.
My inner critic, Nelly, had nothing to say about it, and I did it with confidence and a smile on my face, maybe because I had no expectations for an outcome.
Now, looking back at those memories, I'm inspiring myself to just go for it, again
I know that the work I do is valuable and powerful, and so I will continue to share with more confidence than I have been. And I hope that inspires you to do the same. If you want something, just go for it, because if those videos I filmed in my friend's living room six years ago taught me anything, it's that people are not thinking about you as much as you think they are.
The ones that will resonate are waiting to hear from you, and the ones that don't care will just swipe on through.
Do the thing and be happy.
Shine bright,
Nadia 💛
P.S. What's the thing you've been putting off because you're worried what people will think? This is your nudge. Go do it.
