Your Monthly Dose to Happiness
#6 Your Thoughts Become Your Reality
Hi,
Happy Monday! How was your weekend? Halloween scaries?
Remember: You are magic today, tomorrow and every day✨
This month, I’m sharing personal reflections on how your thoughts become your reality. It’s not just the way we speak to ourselves, but what we allow ourselves to think, and believe.
PS. I’ve decided to scratch my limited-time offer and will offer my subscribers 10% off all my offerings until further notice and keep an eye out for special promotions coming up! Son’t miss out.
Key Takeaways
Your thoughts define your reality.
When we continuously tell ourselves something, we will find a way, mainly subconsciously, to make it a reality.
We like to be right, and therefore we will find a way to prove our thoughts right.
You can change your thoughts to better serve you.
How often have you heard the importance of believing in something for it to happen? Or the magic of manifesting something (something I also believe in, by the way)? Or the importance of setting an intention for something?
I’d heard it a lot.
And, although I believe firmly in the power of everything I’ve just mentioned, I didn’t think about the fact that this is the case because our thoughts become our reality.
Our thoughts become our reality.
I love it.
So simple.
So true.
Our thoughts become our reality.
And it works this way because our mind is so powerful. When we continuously tell ourselves something, we will find a way, mainly subconsciously, to make it a reality. And to prove ourselves right, because we love to be right. Right?
You’re not convinced? Here’s a silly example for you.
I started thinking, “I’m not very good at investing, I don’t understand how to invest, and I’m risk-averse," so what happened?
My thoughts told me that investing probably wasn’t for me and I was safer keeping my money in a bank account with a low interest rate, and that became my reality. I’ve spent years with my money in a bank account with little compound interest.
Our thoughts become our reality.
Thought: I don’t know about investing
Reality: I don’t invest
Thankfully, it bothered me that I wasn’t investing; it seemed like a missed opportunity to me, so I changed my thoughts.
I altered my thinking to, “I don’t know much about investing yet, but I could learn about it and get started with a little money.” My thoughts shifted to being curious and open to investing.
Thought: I could learn about investing and give it a try
Reality: I invest, cautiously
How did my thoughts become my reality?
My curiosity led me to question my thoughts and consider if they were real and serving me.
You guessed it! They weren’t real and they were not serving me. It was time to change my thoughts to something that was more aligned with me.
I started reading up on investments, asking friends who I knew had experience investing and doing a deep dive into my finances to understand what I could "risk.” On top of that, technology is always listening to us too; I started being targeted with investment platforms and tips and tricks on social media.
“Investment” was everywhere I looked, always making its way to the top of my mind.
I started investing and enjoying it!
My new thoughts were becoming new my reality.
Our thoughts become our reality.
This example is positive because this is your monthly dose to happiness!
But please remember that the same works with negative thoughts.
Every day won’t be perfect; every day may not even be good. But even on those days, you have control over your thoughts. So make them good; allow yourself the possibility of that positive reality.
Control your thoughts and shift negative thoughts to positive ones so that your reality is more positive too. If you need to write them down, talk them through—do it.
It’s worth it.
Our thoughts become our reality.
My monthly challenge is to actively challenge your thoughts. Are they real? Are they helping you on your journey? If they aren’t, how can you reframe them? This month, every morning and every night, think one good thought, for example, “I’m excited to make this a good day.”
