Your Monthly Dose to Happiness

#18 Remind Loved Ones How They Inspire You

Hello Sunshine,

Happy Monday and welcome to a brand new month.

Remember: You are magic today, tomorrow and every day.

If last month was all about the challenges that shape us, this month is about the people who guide and inspire us along the way.

We don’t always realise how much of our strength comes from the ones who’ve loved us, supported us, and modelled what it means to keep showing up.

This month, I’m celebrating that kind of inspiration. The kind that begins at home.

Key Takeaways

  • Inspiration can come from those closest to us when we pause to truly see them

  • We don’t need perfect role models; we need real ones

  • It’s brave to keep showing up, especially when life has been hard

  • Asking for help is a strength, not a weakness

Last month, I became a mum 🙂

It’s an incredibly beautiful challenge that I’m so grateful to be sharing with my wonderful partner.

But this newsletter isn’t about that journey. Not yet.

Becoming a mum did get me thinking about mothers though… and more broadly, about who inspires us and why.

My mum is one of my greatest inspirations. I know it sounds cliché and maybe a little cheesy, and yes, I probably idolise her a bit. But more than anything, I genuinely believe she is one of the most amazing women I know.

And while I’m absolutely biased, I’m also proud. Proud to look up to her. Proud to grow alongside her.

Here are four reasons why she inspires me so deeply:

She shows me the power of perseverance
My mum has always shown that when you want something, you keep going. And you don’t stop until you’ve achieved them. She’s overcome so much in her life and achieved things no one handed to her. Her message is clear: the only person who can get in your way is you.

She shows up, even when life is hard
I won’t share her full story, but I will say this: it hasn’t been easy. Yet she leads with kindness. She’s always had a deep desire to support children in need, and lately, she’s also been learning to show up for herself, which has taught me the importance of self-love to live your best life.

She embraces life
Whether it was starting a business at 25, learning English at 18 while being deaf, or getting her motorbike licence and going backpacking at 56, my mum is always evolving. She’s shown me that it’s not always easy, but it always works out. Her ability to continue thriving through life has shown me that everything teaches us something and somehow prepares us for our next chapter.

She’s not afraid to ask for help
One of the things I admire most is how confidently my mum can say, “I need support.” It’s something we often resist, but she’s taught me that vulnerability is strength, not weakness. We can’t know everything, and we aren’t always going to get it right so let’s support each other on the journey.

My mum isn’t perfect. Nobody is.

But why do we focus so much on what people are not and searching for perfection? Why do we hesitate to shout about the good from the rooftops?

So this month, I’m doing just that. I’m sharing why my mum rocks and why her story matters.

She’s inspired me to become the woman I am today. She gave me the confidence to chase my dreams and to believe in myself, and now, I hope I can do the same for my son 💙

My monthly challenge is for you to focus on the good in the people you love and remind them why they inspire you. Even the strongest people need reminding.

Who’s inspiring you?

Shine bright.

Monthly book recommendations:

Each month, I share three book recommendations. Expect a mix of fiction and non-fiction. I’ve personally read each one, and they’ve all brought something meaningful to me, whether that’s a fresh perspective, a good laugh, or a quiet moment of reflection.

  • Text me when you get home by Kayleen Schaefer. A love letter to female friendship and the quiet power it holds. A friend gifted me this book which made it all the more special for me.

  • Playing Big by Tara Mohr. A brilliant, practical read for women who are ready to stop holding themselves back and start playing big. Mohr inspired me to pursue my business by playing big.

  • Girl, Woman, Other by Bernardine Evaristo. A celebration of identity, womanhood, and the complexity of life across generations. I have to admit the lack of punctuation in this book bothered me to begin with, but I quickly got used to it and loved the read.

Other resources that have supported my journey:

  • To be magnetic – A powerful mix of courses and community centred around manifestation and subconscious reprogramming.

  • Calm - A favourite for mindfulness, sleep and relaxation. You can set gentle daily reminders to disconnect. Click here for a 30-day free trial.

  • Primeadine® Original - A premium, plant-based spermidine supplement. I’ve loved it for better sleep, sharper focus, and stronger hair. Use code NADIA15 for 15% off.

  • 60-second meditation tool - A beautiful way to pause and reset. Just one minute a day can do wonders.

Hi, I’m Nadia!

I started my personal growth journey when I realised that, even with all I’d achieved, I wasn’t truly clear on what I wanted. That sparked a deep dive into self-discovery, and along the way, I discovered and studied tools that helped me reconnect with myself, and now I support other women to do the same.

If you’re ready to find more clarity, book a free discovery call, I’d love to support you.
